Sweet Potato Pie by Julie McKee

My great grandmother used to make this for holiday gatherings.  She always made 2 - one with marshmallows for the kids and one for the adults.

3 cups sweet potatoes (canned or fresh)
Dash of lemon extract (esp if use canned potatoes)
1 c brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c melted butter
1 c milk
Beat above ingredients & put in uncooked pie shell or greased pan

For topping mix:
1 c brown sugar
1 c nuts (pecans)
1/2 c plain flour
1/2 stick butter

Put topping onto sweet potatoes mixture.  Bake at 350 approx 45 min - 1 hr.  Can make ahead and reheat in oven.
